An infected intestine causes cholera, the bacterium that causes it is Vibrio cholerae. The infection can be mild or severe. It must be treated in time because if it gets severe then it could be fatal. The symptoms of this infectious disease are profuse watery diarrhea, vomiting, and leg cramps. This condition causes dehydration and shock as there is rapid loss of body fluids. If it is not treated then the person can face death within a few hours. Cholera spreads when a person consumes food and water contaminated with the cholera bacteria. Unhygienic conditions are also responsible for the spread of cholera.
